James M. Milligan
Mr. Milligan has been in private practice since 1998. His practice is concentrated in the defense of individuals charged with Drunk Driving (OUI, DUI, DWI) and related matters. Mr. Milligan has lectured to other Massachusetts attorneys in the areas of field sobriety testing, breath testing and blood alcohol analysis. He assisted in drafting the Massachusetts Practitioners manual on Drunk Driving, a comprehensive review of drunk driving defense.
Attorney Milligan tries approximately 50-75 drunk driving trials per year. He is a partner in the firm of JONES & MILLIGAN, which is Massachusetts' leading drunk driving law firm. Prior to private practice in 1998, he prosecuted cases for the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, the majority of which were Drunk Driving (OUI, DUI, DWI) cases. Additionally, prior to private practice Mr. Milligan was an intern law clerk to Superior Court Justice Carol Ball and Superior Court Justice Peter Agnes.
Mr. Milligan is a member of the National College of Drunk Driving Defense (NCDD), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (MACDL).
James M. Milligan, Jr. was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1973. He is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and the Federal District Court of Massachusetts. Mr. Milligan graduated from Allegheny College with a B.A. in Political Science and from Massachusetts School of Law. At Massachusetts School of Law, he was a member of Law Review.
